Special Care for Special Meat

We are very particular in the care of our sheep and lambs.  The flock has free access to our pastures for grazing, fresh air and plenty of sunshine.  Very little grain is ever fed, and we never use hormones or antibiotics as an aid for growing our animals.  All the hay we feed in the winter is produced here on our farm.

Approximate Size

When ready for purchase, our flavorful grass fed lambs are usually 6 to 9 months old; weighing 70 to 100 pounds.  The hanging weight is approximately 35 to 50 pounds of excellent meat.  We have included three examples of ways to have your mouthwatering lamb prepared by the butcher.  These are suggestions only and can be modified in a way that you prefer.

Delivery 

We will deliver your selection to our local meat market at no additional charge.  Once there, you will be able to make your own personal choices to best suit your needs.  When the meat is ready, we will help with delivery if possible.  Please contact us to make special arrangements.

Price

We follow the current markets from across the country and price our delicious lamb accordingly.  The price does change from time to time, hence you will need to contact us for current pricing.  The meat processor's charge for preparing the lamb for the table varies according to the individual processor and how you have the lamb prepared.  Here at our local market, the charge for initial processing of the lamb is currently $50.00 and then there is a charge of 25 cents per pound for the cut, wrap and freezing.

Pricing Example

Because many people are unsure of the pricing for lambs, we offer the following example.  Please remember that all prices are subject to change.  If the price of the lamb is $4.00/ lb for the hanging weight your total charges would include:

The price of the lamb                $160.00 (40#lamb at $4.00/lb)

Initial processing                          $50.00

Meat processing                            $10.00  ($.25/lb cut, wrap, freeze)

       Example Total                     $220.00

Hanging Weight

This measure represents the weight of the useable portions of the animal before cutting and wrapping.
